35mm: A Musical Exhibition

35mm: A Musical Exhibition

35mm: A Musical Exhibition

35mm: A Musical Exhibition is a concert-style production of the dynamic song cycle by Ryan Scott Oliver, presented through the lens of emerging NYC artists. The show bridges the worlds of music, photography, and performance, using bold visuals and live vocals to explore themes of memory, identity, and human connection.

This production will reimagine 35mm as an immersive theatrical concert, highlighting the storytelling potential of music and image in tandem. Each photograph-inspired song is performed live with a six-piece band and a diverse cast of singer-actors, all underscored by projected photography that complements and expands the narrative.

This project marks the first public presentation by Half A Soul Productions, a newly-formed creative entity committed to building bold, collaborative performance experiences. With a focus on inclusivity, artistic risk-taking, and honest storytelling, Half A Soul Productions aims to develop additional works in the years following 35mm, supporting early-career artists and fostering connection across disciplines.
